Golden Aluminum. We are a continuous casting aluminum rolling mill
who established operations in 1984 and is located in Fort Lupton
Colorado, 35 miles north of downtown Denver. We are the proud owner
of a patented casting process that supplies coiled aluminum sheet
to the packaging and automotive markets with a broad range of
alloys, thicknesses, and coatings. We care about our environment,

require your exceptional skills to be responsible for the vision
and longevity of our complex foundry and mill equipment in an
industrial manufacturing environment. POSITION SUMMARY The Melt
Shop Superintendent provides safety, quality, and production
leadership in alignment with department and company objectives.
Additional responsibilities include managing day to day operations,
continuous improvement cost control, production, scheduling, and
engaging in and leading department initiatives. The
Superintendent’s areas of responsibility also include Raw Materials
inventories, melt loss reduction, blending optimization, molten
metal quality, and setting priorities for maintenance. Safety is
the most important part of all jobs within Golden Aluminum;
therefore, the superintendent must be able to demonstrate the
ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices,
procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. ESSENTIAL
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES · Maintain a safe work environment
through cultural development, behavior based safety, and adherence
to Work Instructions, RCA on safety incidents and near misses, and
completion of safety observations. · Establishes weekly personnel
schedules, and labor requirements to achieve production goals and
objectives. · Reviews and analyzes production, quality control,
maintenance and operational reports to determine causes of
nonconformity, production shortfalls, and operating concerns for
remediation. · Responsible for selection and mentoring of Leads. ·
Ensures adherence to/compliance with company policies, rules and
regulations relating to safety/health, performance standards,
operating procedures, processes, and training requirements. ·
Ensures compliance with federal and state regulations and
participates in annual inspections with the Department of
Environmental Protection. · Manages critical raw material inventory
level and actively manages charge mix for cost optimization. ·
Responsible for implementing NCR corrective actions including
re-training of hourly personnel. · Collaborates with Department
Manager to plan departmental work flow in order to achieve long
term goals established by senior management. · Identifies and
evaluates production practice changes. · Schedules and implements
necessary employee training. · Carries out management
responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and
procedures. · Directly supervises 18-21 employees: monitors work
quality, including conducting performance appraisals and providing
counseling for improved performance. POSITION REQUIREMENTS · Strong
leadership skills · Proven ability to coach and develop high
performance teams · Excellent critical thinking skills · Ability to
effectively communicate across all levels of the company and with
vendors and customers. · Solid communication, listening, and
follow-through skills. Natural collaborator and team builder. ·
Must possess good leadership and coaching skills, have a solid
comfort level with change, and the ability to lead change is
essential and critical to this position. · Woks with and instills a
sense of urgency · Strong Melt and Caster/Hot Mill equipment
knowledge is highly desired. · Ability to write routine reports and
correspondences and prepare management presentations. · Ability to
add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using
whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. · Ability to apply
common sense and solid business judgment to carry out instructions
in written, oral, or diagram form. · Ability to work independently
with stakeholders on both requirements gathering and business
improvement strategies; · Ability to engage in multiple initiatives
simultaneously. · Basic computer knowledge including Microsoft
Office (Outlook, Excel, Word). Compensation: $85,000 - 110,000
