Job Duties and Responsibilities

DISH is looking for a Senior Software Engineer who will help build the technologies that enable millions of Americans to connect and converse with information and one another. You will work in a complex, fast-paced, and highly elastic environment that provides opportunities to navigate across different teams and projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop scalable microservices using Java and Spring Boot, deploying via AWS Elastic Kubernetes Services and AWS Lambda
  
• Design and implement secure APIs using OpenAPI Specifications, collaborating with application teams to align with business requirements
  
• Utilize GitLab CI/CD pipelines for code deployment, peer reviews, and continuous integration with development teams
  
• Create technical documentation and support plans for complex systems and web applications
  
• Contribute to production quality through robust logging, monitoring, tracing, and security best practices
  
• Troubleshoot API and microservice issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive solutions
  
  Skills, Experience and Requirements
  
  Education and Experience:
  
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field High-level qualifications
  • Experience working in an Agile environment: Scrum and Kanban
  • Good understanding of:
    • security protocols (e.g. OAuth, SAML)
    • Governance, Event Driven Architecture, message-based architectures, and caching strategies and frameworks
    • Demonstrate expertise with microservices, APIs, and web application frameworks
    • 5+ years of experience in development and implementation of enterprise-wide solutions based on Java Technologies (Java, J2EE, Web Services, Spring, Spring Boot), Python, and cloud-native environments
    • 5+ years of experience building API architecture/management for REST APIs
    • 3+ years of experience building and managing Microservices in AWS or other cloud platforms
      
      Skills and Qualifications:
      
      • Developed serverless applications using AWS Lambda, Redis, SQS, and other cloud technologies
        
      • Proficient in CI/CD processes, with experience in threat modeling, risk assessments, and code reviews
        
      • Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills for collaborating with global technical teams
        
      • Experienced with Agile methodologies and using SDLC tools like JIRA, Confluence, and Git-based source control
        
      • Expertise in API design, Swagger/Swagger Hub, and API Gateways such as Apigee
        
      • Hands-on experience with databases like DynamoDB, MongoDB, DocumentDB, and containerization technologies such as Docker & Kubernetes
        
        Salary Ranges
        
        Compensation: $96,250.00/Year - $137,500.00/Year
