Job Description Job Description Salary: $24.33 - $30.98 Hourly DOE Position:Streets & Utilities Technician I or II Department:Public Works Hourly Pay Range: Tech I $24.33 - $28.16/hourly or Tech II $26.76 - $30.98/hourly Reports to:Streets & Utilities Supervisor Benefits: The Town offers an excellent benefits package including full health, dental, and vision coverage for the employee, including insurance deductible reimbursement, and partial coverage for family health, dental, and vision; short- and long-term disability and life insurance; and a retirement contribution package. Experience: Technician I: 02 years of construction, utility, or public works experience Technician II: 2-4 years of relevant construction, utility, or public works experience required. Technician I General Duties Perform entry-level asphalt patching, crack sealing, snow removal, and street sweeping. Assist with water and wastewater utility locates, meter reading, and minor repairs. Operate light to medium trucks and tools under supervision. Perform routine hydrant flushing and valve turning. Provide traffic control and flagging on construction sites. Technician I Certifications Class B CDL (Willing to get within 1st year of hire) Flagger Certification (within 1 year) Confined Space Certification (within 1 year) CPR/First Aid/AED Certification (within 1 year) Technician II General Duties Perform independent street maintenance, including overlays, concrete flatwork, signage installation/repair, and striping. Operate heavy equipment, including graders, loaders, plows, and hydrovac trucks. Conduct inspections and maintenance of water distribution and wastewater collection systems. Respond to utility locates, service calls, and after-hours emergency repairs. Perform advanced valve exercising, hydrant flushing, and system troubleshooting. Mentor and train Technician I staff; serve as acting lead on projects as assigned. Maintain logs, inspection reports, and regulatory records. Performs data entry of information, maintenance logs, and other data in spreadsheets and pavement management software. Support snow removal and emergency response operations. Assist with set-up/tear-down for Town events as needed. Performs a variety of duties that require considerable knowledge of the use and wear of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Asphalt patching, crack sealing, snow removal, and street sweeping. Assists, performs, and/or directs a variety of routine to complex maintenance and construction activities, or inspections, including street signage, street sweeping, pavement markings, concrete maintenance, and asphalt maintenance. Assist with water and wastewater utility locates, meter reading, valve turning, hydrant flushing, and minor repairs. Technician II Certifications CDL with Tanker Endorsement Flagger Certification Confined Space Certification CPR/First Aid/AED Certification, and One of the following (within 1 year of hire if not already held): Colorado LTAP Roads Scholar I Certification, or Water Distribution I, or Wastewater Collections I. Technician II Desirable/Preferred Qualifications Trenching & Excavation Safety Training. OSHA 10 or 30 Construction Safety. Demonstrated experience in GIS/GPS mapping of utilities. HOURS OF WORK: Regular working hours for this position are Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and outside of regular work hours as necessary. Summer hours may apply (4-10s).
